Jim was a Naval Flight Officer from 1969-74 stationed for six months aboard the carrier, USS America, deployed in the Mediterranean. He served in Panama, involved in testing equipment bound for Vietnam under tropical testing conditions. He lives in Lamoni, IA. Trullinger served in the Navy for two-and-one-half years during WW II, about half of that in the South Pacific aboard the USS Megrez, a cargo ship that distributed materials and supplies including ammunition and lube oil to the Third and Fifth fleets. He celebrated the end of WW II in the Philippines, "along with many, many other ships." The Megrez traveled to most of the island groups in the Pacific during the war, and China, Japan and Korea after the war. He lives in Eagleville, MO.
