Early Retirement

In June 2005 I was introduced to Kirby at Leader Dogs for the Blind. For the past four years Kirby has been by my side and has been a major part of many life events. Many of you may remember Kirby either from classes at Graceland or just seeing him around campus and if you got lucky, you may even have gotten to pet him a few times. A year ago Kirby was diagnosed with cataracts in both eyes and an ocular cyst in one. After attempting to treat this issue, to prolong his working life, it has become necessary for him to retire. On December 1st, Kirby will work his last day and become a well trained house dog.
