Wallflower Art Show Opening Reception on Friday Evening

The opening reception for Wallflower, an art show presented by Peggy Mothershead, will be held on Friday, September 26, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in The Helene Center for the Visual Arts Student Gallery.

The artist, Peggy Mothershead, is a Graceland employee and student majoring in Art: Studio. Over the last 13 years, while working full-time and raising a family, she has slowly completed degree requirements and will graduate next spring.

The show, which can be seen through October 17, features sculptures that combine ceramics, metal, wood, and found objects. The stylized flowers that are displayed in a rustic courtyard setting relate the tenacity of nature with our individual struggles throughout life.
