The Graceland University music faculty will present a free recital this Friday evening (September 26) at 7:30 p.m. in The Shaw Center auditorium. The recital will commence a time of celebration in honor of the inauguration of Graceland's 17th President, Dr. John Sellars.
Dr. Sellars' inauguration will take place on Friday, October 10, as part of Graceland's Homecoming 2008 during the weekend of October 10-12. Click on the Homecoming banner on our web site home page for a complete listing of Homecoming Weekend and Inaugural activities.
The Graceland Presidential Inauguration Event of Music on Friday evening will be followed with a reception to greet President Sellars and First Lady Bette Sellars. All students, faculty, and staff are urged to attend what promises to be a very special evening of music. Graceland's very talented music faculty performing will include David Pickering, Jack Ergo, Charles Schmidt, Mike Compton, and Martha Hart. Singer Amy Stout Jeffers and trombonist Clayton Murphy will also perform.
Although the recital is scheduled for the same evening as the first National Presidential Debate, plan to set your VCR or TIVO and join your neighbors, colleagues, and fellow students in this Graceland Presidential Inauguration Event of Music. We will see you there!
