To ensure Graceland's marketing resources are allocated in an integrated manner that maximizes the effectiveness of those resources, the Integrated Marketing Committee, made up of representatives from both campuses, has made critically important adjustments to Graceland's style guide. The following policy is the beginning of a new identity guide that will be available to the community. It relates to official representation of Graceland. It does not mean that, for example, houses cannot continue to use their own colors for their own events. Questions should be directed to the Directors of Marketing, Kirk Bjorland, 5145, on the Lamoni Campus or Drew Schaefer, 4250, on the Independence Campus.
POLICY:
Graceland University will use the Lipman Hearne word mark as the University logo. Graceland's logo will include "Est. 1895" whenever possible. Use of all other logos will be discontinued, including the Global Campus and all athletic team logos.
The campus seal will be used as outlined in the Graceland Visual Identity Guide (for official use only by the Office of the President, Academic Affairs, and Registrar).
The Graceland mascot, Sting, is being redesigned by a Graceland committee. Until the new yellowjacket design is approved, official Graceland clothing (e.g., team uniforms) orders should use the athletic logo designed for this purpose. The Sting logo and any variants may not be used until the redesign process is completed. Go to www.graceland.edu/17933 and click on "logos" to view the word mark, seal, and athletic logo.
When matching Graceland apparel is required for official appearances and/or when a team or department is representing Graceland as a group, such apparel should have a visual reference to GU and incorporate the official school colors, Pantone 288C blue and Pantone 124C gold. Any combination of the two Graceland colors and white or grey may be used as long as the correct shades are utilized. Gray may be used as an alternate to the official GU colors. When apparel companies cannot provide fabric in the exact shade of Pantone 288C blue, navy is acceptable; royal blue is not. Use of any other color must be approved by the Creative Media Center (Steve Edwards, 5249).
Go to www.graceland.edu/17933 and click on "color" to view the official Pantone colors.
Print-ready graphics for all official Graceland clothing and promotional materials, stationery, and business cards must be provided by the Creative Media Center (CMC).
