The "Italian Reflections" cruise started in Athens and made stops in Sorrento, Pompeii, and the Isle of Capri. Highlight stops in Rome included St. Peter's Basilica and the leaning Tower of Pisa. Michael and Elizabeth Franklin, Paul and Linda Snethen, Dwight and Doris Heath, Thelma and Marvin Sword and Beth and Rollie Marolf enjoyed the sights, food, and the company of fellow Gracelanders.
The Alumni Programs office is working hard on choosing just the right destination for our next venture either in late 2013 or early 2014. Please stay tuned!

Eagles, whales, bears, salmon and dolphins played host to twenty-two Graceland alumni who set sail on an Alaska cruise June 7-17, 2011. The group stopped at ports in Sitka, Ketchikan, Hoonah and some smaller towns for day adventures of whale watching, salmon fishing, or explorations of native cultures. Traditions of the Tlingit people merge with those of Russian fur trappers, American gold prospectors, bush pilots, and salmon fishermen. The ship sailed past the Hubbard Glacier, a 76-mile long river of ice that opens a six-mile wide face to the Gulf of Alaska. The Gracelanders pursued their own tour interests and shipboard activities but combined frequently in small groups for gourmet meals and relaxed conversation. Connected by their common Graceland heritage, the party gathered for a group shot near the end of the cruise. They then joined together for a grand dinner where past and present flowed together in memories of days on the hill and recent adventures on the shores of the majestic North Star state.
