Michael Morain ('01), Des Moines, IA.
Michael Morain, ('01) has served on the Alumni Board of Directors since 2008. He covers art and culture for the Des Moines Register, a position he's held since 2006. After graduating from Graceland with a degree in International Studies, Morain taught French for two years at the Concordia Language Villages in Bemidji, Minn., before earning a master's degree in journalism at Northwestern University, which included stints in Chicago; Washington, D.C.; and New Delhi, India. Michael teaches Sunday school and plays the piano at Community of Christ congregation in West Des Moines, volunteers at a literacy program for adults, and leads a team of Graceland alumni and friends on RAGBRAI, the Register's Annual Bicycle Ride across Iowa. He is married to Heath Smith. |

Jeannine (Andersen) Ward ('84), West Des Moines, IA. Jeannine (Andersen '84) Ward graduated with a BA in Music Education. Jeannine's teaching experience includes working in public and private schools making music with students in preschool through grade 12 in Canada and in Iowa. She is married to Dale Ward ('85) and is a mother to three sons. Jeannine has several years of volunteer experience with soccer teams, Boy Scouts of America, and Community of Christ. Jeannine now works as a field specialist for the Lamoni Heartland Mission Center, Community of Christ. |

JJ Musgrove ('92), Columbus, Georgia. JJ Musgrove ('92) serves as the director of donor services for the Community Foundation of the Chattahoochee Valley. JJ graduated from GU with a B.A. in theatre and attended the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena, California. He served as Graceland's first Coordinator of Fine Arts Recruiting for the Admissions Office and eventually became an Assistant Dean of Admissions while earning his M.A. in theatre from the University of Central Missouri. He is married to Dr. Kate Musgrove, former Graceland theatre professor, and together they run a professional theatre company in Columbus, Sherlock's Mystery Dinner Theatre. |

Kasey (Johnson) Steen ('08), Clive, IA.
Kasey (Johnson '08) Steen earned her law degree and MBA from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa in 2011. Upon graduation, Kasey opened her own law practice where she specializes in business law, working with small businesses, entrepreneurs and family businesses across the state of Iowa. In her free time, Kasey, who was a member of the GU SIFE national championship team, serves as a member of the Graceland SIFE Business Advisory Board, and is a Graceland Congregational Representative within Community of Christ. Steen also works as a volunteer for the John Stoddard Cancer Center in Des Moines, and is a committee chairperson for the "John Stoddard Rally Against Cancer." |

Karla Fennick ('89), Kansas City, MO.
Karla M. Fennick ('89) is currently serving as the President of the Graceland University Alumni Board. She graduated from Graceland with a B.A. in Communications/ English and also holds an M.A. in English with an emphasis in professional writing from the University of Missouri - Kansas City. Karla is currently a senior software designer for Cerner Corporation where she has worked for 16 years. She is married to Gary Heisserer, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Graceland. |
