We're Looking for the Best!

The Graceland Honors Program wants students who want more. Have you proved your academic excellence by:

• Achieving a 3.5 or higher high school GPA?
• Scoring 25 or higher on your ACT?
• Receiving an SAT score of 1140 or higher (combined English & Math)?
• Developing outstanding writing skills?

If you think you belong in the Honors Program, but don't have these particular credentials, talk to us anyway. If you can show us other evidence of your academic promise and creativity, the Honors Council will consider you for the program.

Program Requirements

What Does it Take to Graduate with Honors?

First, you must meet all the regular graduation requirements of the university.

In addition, you must:

• Participate in the program for two complete academic years.
• Graduate with at least a 3.5 GPA.
• Complete a minimum of 21 semester hours of honors credit.
• Participate in Junior and Senior Honors Seminars.

An Honors Scholarship requires a 3.75 cum gpa, and is renewable for active Honors students who maintain a 3.75 cum gpa at the end of the spring semester.

We strongly encourage you to take Honors Humanities and Honors English as honors electives

This is how your 21 semester hours will add up:

• Elective Honors Classes - 9 s.h. (Ususally includes Honors English and Honors Humanities)
• Honors Advanced Composition - 3 s.h.
• Junior Honors Seminar - 3 s.h.
• Senior Honors Seminar - 3 hrs.
• Honors Thesis or Senior Project - 3 s.h.
• Total 21 s.h.
