Articles can usually be borrowed without charge. If the lending library indicates a charge you will be notified before the order is completed. Please send interlibrary loan requests by filling out this form, use the Loansome Doc system in PubMed, or use the links from the various databases such as CINAHL and OVID. We do not accept emailed article requests.
In EBSCOhost databases (e.g. Academic Search Premier, MasterFile, PsycINFO, ERIC, CINAHL), articles that are not available in full text format, or through the Graceland Libraries, can be ordered by clicking on the "Request this item through interlibrary loan" link. Please make sure this article isn't available full-text in another database by checking A-Z before ordering.
Loan requests can take from a few days to over a week to arrive, depending on availability, the speed at which the lending library responds and how the item is shipped. We email articles to you as a PDF file. If a week has passed and you haven't received your article or heard from us, please contact the library.
The loan period for books and other items is determined by the lending library. Renewals are granted at the discretion of the lending library. If a renewal isdesired, the interlibrary loan staff must be notified a few days in advance so theycan submit the request to the lending library. It is important to return itemspromptly; overdues can jeopardize Graceland library's ability to borrow fromother libraries. There is a 25 cent per day fine on overdue interlibrary loan books.
