RESERVES - HOW DOES IT WORK?

  1. There are three options for Reserves: print reserves in the library, electronic reserves on the libraries' web site, and electronic reserves on a course's WebCT or eCollege web sites.
  2. Faculty need to determine if requests will meet copyright guidelines. Please refer to the libraries' policy on "Copyright Gudelines for Reserves" before submitting materials for reserve.
  3. If necessary, faculty need to obtain all copyright permissions . If copyright permission has been denied, contact the library for further help.
  4. Fill out the "Request for Reserves" form which is available at the circulation desk at the library. Faculty can use the same 'Request for Reserves" form for both print and electronic reserves.

PRINT RESOURCES

  1. Faculty may place items on Closed Reserve by submitting materials, along with required letters from copyright holdes granting permission to use, and the Reserve Request forms to the Circulation Desk.
  2. Faculty are expected to pull the books from the shelves or to make photocopies of the articles they wish to place on reserve.

ELECTRONIC RESERVES

  1. Materials can be scanned and put into PDF format, or they can be linked using the URL of the site or database where the article was found.
  2. Follow steps 1 and 2 above.
