Graceland University's ACE Program is an incredible opportunity for high school 11th- and 12th-grade students (and 9th- and 10th-grade talented and gifted students) to get a jumpstart on their college education and explore the world of Graceland academic life. The ACE Program operates under Iowa's Postsecondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) Act which opens the door to any high school junior or senior with at least a 3.0 GPA or with the recommendation of their high school councelor or principal to enroll in our classes and earn dual credit - three college credits as well as high school credit.
Graceland currently enrolls between 250 and 275 students in the ACE program each semester. Students can enroll for up to, but not including, 12 semester hours (12 semester hours is considered full-time enrollment, which is not allowed). Students may not enroll in a course if a comparable course is available at the local school district.
Begining in the spring of 2013, Graceland offers ACE students an exceptional incentive to take and complete coursework through thier high schools: Students have automatic acceptance into GU and are guaranteed up to a 50% tuition discount.
Graceland University offers courses that are completed in three formats:
Funding for this program comes from local school districts paying no more than $250 per student/course for an online course or, if one of your faculty members teaches a course on location, that cost is $90 per student/course. The local school district pays for the instructor's time, textbooks and other fees.
Courses can be completed by students in their own homes, if the online format is chosen, or in the school library or computer lab. Because there is no specific time that these classes meet, busy students are allowed the flexibility to complete college level work within the framework of their unique schedules.
Courses in the discipline of mathematics, science, social sciences, humanities and courses in career option programs are eligible for students to enroll in under the PSEO Act.
Courses Offered:The complete list of Graceland University majors and minors will assist you in choosing courses that will fit into your chosen major.
We are excited for this amazing opportunity for high school students to take ACE courses and seek entrance into Graceland University. Please contact us with any questions you may have.
