M.Ed in Management in the Inclusive Classroom: A Quality Schools Approach

Graceland's accredited online university is very pleased to offer this new online Master's of Education degree specifically designed to address the important issue of classroom management. When we survey teachers about the most pressing problems they face, classroom management is always at or near the top of the list. This is no surprise as class sizes get bigger and class populations become more diverse.

This 30-hour, online Master's of Education focuses on best practices of effective classroom management in the context of a responsive approach to instruction. Program topics, learning experiences, and outcomes are based on the classroom management strategies of Jonathan Erwin, the differentiated instructional approaches of Dr. Carol Ann Tomlinson, and the Quality Schools concepts of Dr. William Glasser.

Through our online classroom management program, you will learn preventative strategies to minimize classroom and behavior management problems and remedial strategies to deal effectively with discipline incidents. You will also increase your knowledge in establishing productive classroom climates, applying management techniques, and fostering student learning and behavioral accountability.

This online classroom management program is open to all licensed K-12 teachers who are currently teaching in a classroom. It is entirely online with no residency requirements.

Course content is presented in an online format through multi-learning modalities that includes viewing video of master teachers demonstrating course concepts and techniques, collaborating with your graduate faculty mentor and colleagues, and applying course content in your own teaching situation. Candidates may transfer two (3 s.h.) Differentiated Instruction/Management video seminars offered by Quality Educational Programs course work into the program or one (3 s.h.) video seminar and the Glasser Institute Training.  The Glasser Institute Training will waive EDUC5130. A video transfer grade of C or higher will be accepted. Transfer credit documentation must be received at the time of admission.  No transfer credit will be accepted for the Collaborative Learning and Teaching, Technology Integration or Mild/Moderate Special Education degrees.
