Building Guidelines

  1. Food and/or beverages are limited to the following rooms: a. Shaw Center Green Room (and kitchen) b. Shaw Center Lobby (for event-related receptions only) c. Shaw Center Art Gallery (for art receptions)
  2. Food and/or beverages are NOT permitted in the auditorium, which includes the stage and Choral Rehearsal rooms.
  3. Following your event, please return the room to its “neutral” position.
  4. Rooms should be clean and free of any debris.
  5. Furniture should not be moved to or from another location. If additional furniture or equipment is needed, please work with the Shaw Center Technical Coordinator or Shaw Center Director. (Advance notice is required.)
  6. Tape should be placed only on glass – not on doors, painted surfaces or walls.
  7. Accidents or broken items should be reported immediately to the Director of Shaw or the Technical Coordinator.
  8. The level of the orchestra pit is at the discretion of the Shaw Center Director.

Auditorium & Stage - Room 165

  • Auditorium totally clear
  • Stage totally clear
  • Piano/Organ/Scenery at Coordinator's
    or Theatre Tech. discretion
  • Large shells re-set in concert formation
    under guidance of Shaw personnel
  • This is a "formal" performance space;
    stage, curtains, orchestra pit, cloth
    chairs need careful protection from any
    debris, marring or surface, etc.
  • OSHA safety standards and work
    procedures are observed 24 hours
Comments
  • High quality theatre seating(434) with all technical abilities
  • Only Shaw personnel or designated, qualified person may:
    1. Operate any stage equipment
    2. Move shells
    3. Operate rigging system
    4. Use catwalks
    5. Enter sound/light booth
    6. Enter scene shop
    7. Move the back wall
  • no food or drink aat anytime;
    capped bottled water ok

Recital/Lecture Hall (back of Auditorium) - Room 167

  • 250 chairs in rows
  • Boston Grand Piano centered under lights
  • Smart cart (optional) to one side
  • Any music stands to front sides

Comments

  • This is a formal lecture hall space
  • Only Shaw personnel may move the wall
  • No food or drink at anytime; capped bottled water ok

Lobby/Foyer - Room 169

  • Arrange with Shaw Center Director

Green Room (lounge) - Room 148

Conference Room - 137

  • Conference table - 8-12 chairs

MUSIC
Rehearsal Room (can be used as multi-purpose) - Room 105

  • 75 chairs racked by north wall
  • Music stands racked by north wall
  • Music cabinets along west wall
  • Choral risers against east wall
  • Kawai Grand piano centered on whiteboard
  • Audio cabinet on south wall, equip. connected
  • Video cabinet by east doorway
