Building Guidelines 

  • All signs, ads, etc. must be approved before being displayed in the Memorial Student Center.
  • Signs may only be hung on brick or bulletin boards. No signs are to be hung on windows or doors.
  • No tape may be used on wood, glass or painted surfaces.
  • Staples are to only be used on bulletin boards.
  • House formals and functions must submit a decorating plan prior to verification of the reservation. All plans must be approved by the Student Activities Office.
  • Audio and lighting technical assistance must be requested at least two weeks prior to an event in the MSC Main Room. Technical assistance will be coordinated by the Student Activities Technical Coordinator.
  • All events scheduled in the MSC must be completed (including clean-up) before midnight. Exceptions must be approved through the Student Activities Office.
  • Individuals and groups are responsible for cleaning up upon the completion of their event.
  • No spray painting of any kind in the building.
  • All exit signs and emergency equipment must be clearly visible and free from obstructions.
  • The main room fireplace may be requested when reserving the MSC Main Room . Operating the fireplace will be the sole responsibility of the MSC supervisor or Student Activities staff.
  • Furniture on the Mezzanine and in the North Americas (Conference) Room is not to be moved.
  • If furniture in the MSC Main Room or South Americas Room is moved, it must be returned to its original neutral position.
  • The OASIS lounge is for non-traditional student use only.
  • Half of the computers in the Enter.NetC@fe must remain open for student use at all times.
  • If making posters, please make sure the paper has a wax backing or use cardboard underneath it to prevent bleed-through.
  • All posters, flyers, ads, etc. must be removed from walls and bulletin boards after the event is completed.

All groups using the Memorial Student Center are held responsible for these rules and regulations. If damage, excessive debris, or other loss occurs, charges are determined by appropriate departments. Payment for damages is the responsibility of the corresponding organization/individual.
