June 2, 2008 Lamoni, IA-On Friday Director of Athletics Dan Hanton announced he had filled both the Head Men's Soccer position as well the Head Men's Basketball position. Former Associate Head Coach of the men's soccer program Angel Monroy has been moved from Interim Head Coach to full time Head Coach and former men's assistant Jeffrey Hamilton has been moved from Interim Head Coach to full time Head Coach as well.
"Both of these young men will work hard to insure the development of the returning athletes as well as being an integral part of the recruiting process," stated Hanton. "Angel has been a main ingredient in the success men's soccer program for the past few seasons. First as a player, then a valuable assistant and now he has the opportunity to maintain a program of excellence both in the classroom and on the pitch. He and his staff will continue to maintain a high level of competition within the HAAC and NAIA," finished Hanton about the new soccer coach.
"Jeffrey Hamilton is a young talented coach who has experienced only success throughout his basketball career," stated Coach Hanton about the new basketball hiring. "A former NCAA Division I player who spent two years at Campbellsville University as a grad assistant (this year's NAIA Division I Champions)prior to coming to Graceland, was partially responsible along with Coach Quinn for the recruitment of the past two incoming classes. His rapport with those young men is one to be admired. The 2008-09 season should be a great year for Jeffrey, his staff and his young team of Yellowjackets," concluded Hanton.
