Eligibility

A student is eligible to apply for admission to Upward Bound if he or she...

• has completed the eighth grade, but not entered the twelfth grade and attends an Upward Bound target school.
• possesses a genuine interest in pursuing a program of post secondary education after graduation from high school.
• has the potential for success in post secondary education and can demonstrate a need for additional support in preparation for a program of education beyond high school.
• is a citizen or national and a permanent resident of the United States. is from a family where the parents (or parent in the case of a single parent home) do not presently have four-year college degree; OR
• is from a family that meets income guidelines specified by the United States Department of Education.
